With plenty of food, warmth, water and nesting sites, these formidable pests can remain active all year round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There has been a 50% increase in callouts for <a title=\"cockroach infestation in Ireland\" href=\"http:\/\/www.irishmirror.ie\/news\/irish-news\/cockroach-infestation-callouts-irish-homes-8236276\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cockroach infestation in Ireland in 2016<\/a> compared to last year. 65% of the callouts in 2016 have been to residential properties and three quarters of that figure has been to houses and apartments in the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You might see <a title=\"signs of cockroaches\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rentokil.ie\/cockroaches\/cockroach-infestation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cockroaches<\/a> in a variety of places in your home:<\/strong> pipe holes, sinks, fridges, cupboards, wall cracks, boxes or bins. Nobody likes to see them scurrying around. However, many people regard them as nothing more than a harmless embarrassment.
