If you were at last year\u2019s National Ploughing Championships you may have come accross our hugely popular \u201cPop-Up Pestaurant\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rentokil\u2019s Pestaurant is designed to create a buzz and spread the word on the benefits of eating insects while our experts also offer you free pest control advice on the spot!<\/p>\n\n\n

Our Global network of Rentokil branches have put their heads together and even put a Pestaurant Cook Book together, with recipies including chocolate chirp cookies to mealworm burgers, we\u2019ve tried it all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roughly 1,900 species of insects are reportedly suitable food for humans and the United Nations are actively promoting we look at insects as a viable food source for the human race in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Insects are not only a healthy food option, they are also very good for the environment!<\/p>\n\n\n

Farmers –  Pay Attention!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It takes 10kg of food to produce 1kg of cow, only half of which can actually be eaten. By contrast, 10kg of feed will produce up to 9kg of insects, of which over 95% can be eaten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The impact on your business? In short, it means, it costs far less to use insects as feed and insects also produce less greenhouse gases than the other protein types!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
