Yes, that’s right, I’ll say it again. Specifially, I think I have fallen in love with myRentokil’s pest trend analysis function…what a nerd I hear you say!
But this function is an exceptionally good tool if you want to implement a truly effective integrated pest management programme (IPM).
Rather than the myriad of IPM systems out there that claim to work…this tool ACTUALLY works. Click here for a demo.
Existing paper systems capturing data such as fly catch tray analysis are good but can be sometimes buried, with key information not getting to the right people until its too late. There is no hiding place for pests from myRentokil! It tells you exactly what pest you have, how many you have and where you have them, immediately after a pest control technician has visited your site via the online portal.
The time for burying our heads in the sand is gone. If a commercial business is serious about controlling pests then using the pest trend analysis function is the first step in making a real improvement to your pest prevention programme.
Don’t get me wrong, this is not all one sided, we (as pest control professionals) get the benefit too as this management tool allows us to manage pest activity more effectively and react early where infestation strikes, thereby minimizing the impact of the pest.
If I had had this tool in my research days I would have generated some pretty cool data. And I know some population ecologists who would give their right arms for such a powerful data capturing system.
I’m so glad that you like it! We’re very proud of PestNetOnline so its always great to get feedback from users.
The Analysis tool is just one of several features that will help you to manage your pest control data. You can create customiseable reports that can be scheduled to deliver at regular intervals specified by you, and even automate these reports to be delivered to non-PestNetOnline users. If you are a multi site user, Site Collections will help you to group your portfolio together so that you can run these reports on specific locations, allowing you to manage large numbers of sites. You can also export any of the data tables for use in your own applications.

Having worked on PestNetOnline as a Web Developer I can tell you that there were thrills and spills, heated debates, lots of stress but also lots of fun.
Being that close to a massive project can be really exciting but also incredibly stressful. Now the dust has settled, I look back on it and think we rolled out a really great product.
I think the next big project would be to convert it into Arabic as they read right to left, but I won’t say anymore about how hard that’s going to be!
