The word’s leading pest control company, Rentokil, has announced the second generation of its PestNetOnline system. Updated and expanded, this new version of the successful system allows users to access the current status of client-specific pest control activities at the touch of a button – any time, any place. Corporate clients and Rentokil service engineers can access PestNetOnline either from mobile or from desktop computers. Both location-specific and company-wide information is on screen in seconds.
PestNetOnline puts professional pest control, evaluation and trend analyses at your fingertips. Its online documentation and control system is unique worldwide, offering huge benefits to pest-sensitive industries such as food processing, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, as well as hotels and caterers. All pest control activities can be displayed, reliably and in detail, with pest incidents to date, substances used, action plans, maintenance/service histories and hygiene regulations or security specifications only a few mouse-clicks away.
With PestNetOnline, Rentokil has made pest control transparent and controllable, significantly enhancing its commitment to service quality and duty of care.
The centrepiece of PestNetOnline is a hand-held computer with built-in barcode scanner. This device clearly identifies each control point and registers information on relevant service, inspection and control activities. These data are then transmitted via mobile telephone networks to the PestNetOnline server, where they are stored on a secured-access website. Only clients or Rentokil staff in possession of a password can access these data. Users are thus liberated from hardcopy documentation, with data available whatever their location. Interactive plans of the relevant facility enable the location of bait stations, alarms and pest incident areas to be displayed.
In recent years, production and commerce have become increasingly globalised, making international standards and legislation into important control and monitoring tools, both for industry and the authorities. In the field of hygiene, for example, standards are now determined by organisations like the US Federal Drug Administration (FDA), the American Institute of Baking (AIB) or the International Food Standard (IFS).
“Companies which produce and deliver goods internationally need support that caters to international standards and regulations,” says Christian Knocks, Division Manager at Rentokil. “PestNetOnline not only meets, but even exceeds these standards.” Jens Heuter, Marketing Manager, adds: “With PestNetOnline, users have a tool which is standardised and compatible worldwide. A tool which is easy to use, which analyses and evaluates, and in addition provides transparent documentation of work done by the Rentokil service engineer.”
PestNetOnline is available as of now. System requirements are low – a PC with Internet access and facility plans as JPG files normally suffice.
